It is All Feedback
We are constantly swimming in a sea of feedback, positive or negative. Most people offer their opinions based on their limited global view. Some only see the best in us, others the worst. To most we don?t exist or are of no value.
This incessant input can lift and inspire or drag us to the deepest levels of despair. We can either listen, learn, adapt and grow or sink below the surface of the perceived negativity. This feedback can be valuable when we hold within us strong core values and self belief. Without this we become rudderless and at the mercy of the whims of the outer world and other people?s opinions (OPO?s).
It seems we can be surrounded by positive input and focus on the small negatives and blow them out of proportion. We give the negatives much more attention than they deserve. Whilst there will always be a learning in this feedback we tend not to take the time to explore, we are too busy protecting our sensitive delicate ego, with its warehouse of fears and limitations.
When we build our inner strength, when we come to that place of being comfortable with ourselves what was once seen as negative, something to be avoided, becomes a building brick to our own maturity. We grow when we can look at all feedback and take the best from it and use it to inspire ourselves to the heights of our potential.
Our sensitivity to negative input lies in our over focus on our doubts and fears, the great untruths in our lives. It is an over focus on ourselves in a negative way. Once we recognise this simple truth our lives change, we find the inner strength and wisdom to unpack an uncomfortable gift and find the gem hidden within. Life is constantly offering us the Gold, the little gems that lead us to be the very best we can be. To reach these lofty heights we need to lay down our backpacks of lies and deceptions, stepping forward into a stronger, more powerful self. Like the Fool Card in the Tarot, we need to lighten our load, and step forward with conviction, trusting in our own process and skills.
Feedback and OPO?s can make us or break us, the gift is we get to choose.
