Trauma is a gift

Trauma affects most of us at some time in our lives. For most it is a difficult experience, sometimes life destroying.

In a world focussed in the negative, trauma becomes a trap, a self imposed prison, one we do not understand is of our own making.

When we become willing to look at our lives through different lenses, trauma can become a powerful process for healing. When we are fully empowered and have a healthy self worth, many of the trauma triggers disappear. Our venerability to trauma may stem from a poorly developed self esteem and self worth. Having a strong Can Do attitude is far more healing than an I Can?t approach. Releasing our self perpetuating lies and limitations may do more to heal our past traumas than years of therapy.

Trauma is usually based in the past, we can however project it into the future. If we were to take the advice of those wiser then ourselves and begin to create our own futures we can release much of our pain and suffering. Using creative visualisation, goal setting, or whatever name you wish to apply, begin writing a new story, a better version than the current edition.

Neville Goddard, has a wonderful receding, The Pruning Shears of Revision.

He speaks of visualising the story in a better outcome, the outcome you desire. This knowledge can be found in the bible, it is not new. Take any event that was traumatic and rescript it. You are the writer, the director, the producers and the main characters. With time and imagination you can heal any situation.

Imagination is the basis of our human existence, even our imagination draws heavily on our imagination. Knowing this we can begin to change the outcome by imagining it differently.

When we change our focus and begin to look at Trauma as a gift and not a curse, opportunities for healing begin to find expression. If we chose to stay in the nice of pain and hurt, the result will always remain the same.

We make choices in our lives, is it time to choose healing over trauma?
